Do you have a listening ear, do you enjoy helping people get ahead and are you available to work evenings, nights and/or weekends?
We are looking for a freelance counsellor for the 24/7 helpline of Loket Kansspel: the national support centre for anyone dealing with gambling problems and gambling addiction. We want to strengthen our team of 10 freelance counsellors with someone willing to work evenings, nights and/or weekends.
You are accessible to gamblers and their loved ones and often the very first person they talk to about their addiction and problems. The calls you make are therefore mainly the first sign-off of a client from the Gambling Counter.
Tasks:
-Answering the helpline-Making help calls-Aswering whatsapp and chat calls-Reporting and reporting on the calls
This is what we expect from you
-You have an affinity with addiction care-You have a completed HBO education in a relevant direction-Knowledge and experience with 'motivational interviewing' is a plus-Accessible during weekday shifts (evening/night): Monday to Friday from 17.00 - 8.00 am-Accessible during weekend shifts (day/night): Friday 17.00 - Monday 8.00 am-A personal laptop/pc with a good working internet connection
Scope of the assignment
You will work a weekly or weekend shift once a month. Working multiple shifts is negotiable.
Week shift (evening & night) You are available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 17.00 to 8.00.
Weekend shift (24 hours) You are available from Friday evening 17.00 to Monday morning until 8.00.

Loket Kansspel is the central support centre in the field of gambling problems. We offer 24x7 help and guidance as well as referrals to help and guidance in the neighbourhood. The helpdesk was established because of the legalisation of online gambling in the Netherlands on 1 October 2021.
