Help us improve protection for online gambling

Do you ever gamble online, or have you done so in the past? Then we are looking for you.

The Gaming Authority and the Ministry of Justice and Security want to introduce a new rule: a single central limit on how much money you can deposit per month for online gambling. Currently, each gambling company has its own limits. By setting a single joint limit, they want to better protect people who gamble from financial problems and addiction.

But such a system must not only be good on paper, it must also work well in practice. That is why research agency theRevolution, on behalf of the Gaming Authority, is conducting research into what (former) gamblers consider important. We want to hear about your experiences, concerns and ideas.

What does participation entail?

There are two ways to participate:

• An individual interview: a one-on-one conversation lasting approximately one hour. We will talk to you at length about your experience with online gambling and what you think about rules designed to protect you. We will conduct the interviews between 8 and 18 September.

• A group meeting (co-creation session): a meeting of a few hours with other (former) gamblers. Together, we will think about what a good system should look like. This meeting will take place in the week of 6–12 October.
All conversations are confidential. What you say will be processed anonymously. Your name will not be mentioned anywhere. You don't need to be an expert. Your experience as someone who gambles is already very valuable. Employees of gambling companies are excluded from participation.
